Through funding from IMPULSIS and her partners, and HADEFO, over the previous Phases, a number of achievements have been registered. Major are the following: construction and equipping of Mama Teresa Global Nursery and Primary School in Soroti District, establishment of the poultry house and school garden, the construction of the multipurpose hall in Soroti, Omaditok rural community water including drilling of borehole, capacity building and setting up of the FAL program where 25 FAL classes with a population of 730 learners is running in both districts. HADEFO also facilitated sub-granting GOES Municipality funding to Islamic school Soroti for the construction and equipping of the school library now fully functional.

The 730 FAL members have now moved into a level of generating income as groups through weaving and other IGA activities. While the groups are trying these activities, there is need to facilitate ILO Start your business training (SYBT) to build the capacity of the groups to develop business ideas and how to run their business. The sponsorship program is also continuing and orphans are supported at Mama Teresa Global nursery and primary.

In eastern Uganda, HADEFO has operated in the districts of Ngora and Soroti since 2003. In the new Ngora district-Ngora Sub-county, HADEFO organized the local community particularly women most of whom are widows, to establish a microfinance community organization to serve the financial needs of the communities around. The organization is now registered at sub-county level and HADEFO is working to build their capacity through trainings and mobilization of seed funds to enable them serve more needy people interested in starting IGAs. In 2010, HADEFO sponsored a training for the group members on managing savings, loans and banking. They were also provided with 2 bicycles and one motorcycle to enable them carry out community mobilization and loan follow-up.

HADEFO has also been involved in mobilizing the communities in Ngora and Soroti districts to attend HIV counseling and testing in response to the need to reduce new and re-infection as per the National Strategic Plan for HIV and AIDS Prevention 2007/08-2011/12. In so doing, its assisting the GoU in achieving her strategic plan through HADEFO objectives- c) to g) of her existence.

Early (2008 and 2009), HADEFO also supported and distributed scholastic materials and soap to orphans and other vulnerable children and widows in Ngora district. To the children, this was an urgent activity in preparation for the opening of schools for the year, yet most could not access these materials. While others could not continue with school due to lack of scholastic materials and fees, those that got HADEFO support were able to continue with schooling. HADEFO has instituted this as an annual activity in support of orphans and other vulnerable children to access education.
